After his beginnings as "Pete Thompson" on cassette and sampler releases, mostly together with his buddy Björn Kleinhenz, Peter Thisell ventured into his first opus under his own name in 2012.
Together with musically experienced friends he created his first album "I" in an old school in Southern Sweden, released the following year on JellyFant as a vinyl and download booklet (and on the Dutch Continental Sound City as a CD) and now sold out.
Two years later Peter Thisell repeated his "creative musician camp", this time on his own farm. The result is a heart-warming collection of partly dark songs, perfectly created and with a serious lightness captured on vinyl (and CD).

If you are into art leaning mystical, sometimes dark and out there music chances are you will enjoy this. Such are the innovative arrangements and beauty of the work performed by Swedish singer-songwriter Peter Thisell , who is supported in style by a bunch of friends playing piano, violin, acoustic, lap steel, electric bass, lead guitar, upright bass, diatonic accordion, drums and harmony vocals.
Thisell’s second album II is of a quality to take the listener on one lushly coloured cinematic journey after another. ... While lovers of Americana’s darker and more complex side will enjoy this and find refuge in the music, others may find the whole thing too complex and art driven.

With this album the Swedish Peter Thisell channels his love for the carefree sound of the Westcoast singer/songwriters of the late 60s and 70s. To make the image (almost said cliché) of the freedom-loving hippie perfect, he invited his potential comrades-in-arms to an old schoolhouse in Lur in southern Sweden in the summer of 2010 to play his new songs to them in a homely atmosphere (musicians, their families and animals, all under one roof!) and to further refine them in the collective.
The sound is pleasantly warm, the mood is harmonious, and accordion, violin and polyphonic singing underline the handmade character of the songs, which were all recorded live. The result is a collection of old-fashioned unplugged Americana songs, often just dabbed, perfect for the autumn and yet timeless.
