Active since the Nineties, FENTON WEILLS hail from Chicago, Illinois and purvey a lo-fi psych-rock (their name refers to a Pink Floyd song) sound that incorporates the zeal of punk rock with the structures of prior post-rock greats like Mogwai. Some listeners liken them to Spacemen 3, as they retain a classic, bluesy / garage rock sound. They lack a wide listener base, and as such it's difficult to obtain a lot of information about them.

Supported by a cast of talented friends, Thisell's music invites the listener on a sweeping journey through cinematic soundscapes, where elements of traditional Swedish folk songs echo in an atmosphere of dark Americana.

This is music that transcends time and cultures, revealing the human experience through layers of sound, thought and feeling. The lyrics give form to Thisell's inner life through observations of the outer world, outlining tiny moments with large brushstrokes, which the band sympathetically illustrates in lush color.

United Bible Studies

is an experimental and improvisational folk band from Ireland, with members in the UK.

The band was formed in Dublin in 2001 by David Colohan (Raising Holy Sparks) and James Rider (Cubs). Initially inspired by the likes of The Incredible String Band and Fairport Convention, UBS soon developed into a sprawling entity featuring a revolving cast of members, with the same lineup rarely appearing twice.

Pastoral psychedelia and traditional song have remained the cornerstones of the band's style, alongside collective improvisation that can take the form of extended drone-works or explosive outbursts of ecstatic noise.
